What are Dental Exams and X-Rays?
- A dental exam is when a dentist assesses the current condition of your teeth and gums. These check-ups are vital in maintaining oral health and healthy smile. X-rays are also essential and reveal details that are invisible to the naked eye. X-rays allow dentists to see various issues including decay, cancers, root abnormalities, infections, bone loss, calculus buildup, and much more.
What if I Do Not Want a Dental Exam or X-Rays?
- Without regular Dental Exams and X-Rays you will be at risk for of long-terms issues and pain. Our office will not recommend a Dental Exam or X-rays unless our professional staff believes it is necessary for your overall health. Without X-rays, you increase your chances of small problem areas increasing and becoming larger and more painful.
- Our office seeks to prevent further or future complications and believes that the best way to do so, is by thoroughly examining your mouth on a regular basis. We offer completely digital x-rays which substantially lowers your exposure to radiation. *Please note that if you are pregnant or receiving certain treatments such as radiation therapy we should be notified and will only perform X-rays if absolutely needed with the consent of your physician.
